The mythical city of Rucien-Xan is possibly the oldest city of the elves. The city was built on a large butte in the middle of the Chondalwood and is guarded by high walls and magical gates of silver and steel extremely light, but very strong. The walls of the city hold at least a thousand elven archers who guard the gates vigilantly. The pathway through the city continues through the gates and into the city as a main thoroughfare. The homes of the city are beautiful buildings that contain gardens and fountains that are expertly maintained by both skill and magic. Dominating the city is the Tower of the Stars, whose marble walls are inlaid with diamonds and rubies to reflect the light of the moon, as well as paintings and murals. The tower was built at the city’s heart, surrounded by other buildings and private gardens with reflecting pools, fountains, and ponds. The tower’s windows are made of crystal and stained glass. Rucien-Xan is full of forests reshaped into gardens of incredible beauty. The wood elves carved the homes from marble rock into strange and wonderful shapes. It is so beautiful that dwarves travel miles and miles to see it and it was said that a human who entered would not be able to leave, but would forever wander the land forever trapped by the beauty.
